| The first EGM is born with 40 companies that will promote the site with municipal support

This Friday, the Almassora City Council plenary session will approve the Mayor’s proposal for the constitution of the Almassora SUPOI-8 Management and Modernisation Entity (EGM) and the collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Entity, which will be in force for 20 years. Among the keys to this pioneering agreement in Almassora is the implementation of new tools and technologies that will make the industrial estate intelligent.

The EGM del Camí Fondo is born with 40 integrated companies that will work together with the council to promote the industrial estate, so that it has the infrastructures, facilities and services necessary for the efficient and economic, social and environmentally sustainable development of economic activities, improving the management and quality of industrial land (1,335,200 square metres) and the competitiveness of companies.

The board will be chaired by the representative of Neolith Distribución and the vice-presidency and treasury will be held by Industrias Alcorenses Confederadas (Inalco), while the secretary’s office will be held by Casfi. The following will be members: Industrias Dolz, Kerakoll Ibérica, Industria Verbenera Castellonense, Sigmadiamant, Thesize Surface, Olapar and the councillor for Territory, Carmina Martinavarro, representing Almassora Town Council.

Among the objectives for 2023 are: wide accesses, roads and roundabouts with sufficient width for lorry traffic; updated directory of companies and services, as well as signage and identification of the streets and exits of the area; drainage of the rainwater and wastewater network; use of water for irrigation, cleaning or other permitted uses; pedestrian routes and bicycle lanes within the area that encourage internal movement without motor vehicles; fire hydrants; own system of surveillance and security of the area; security and emergency plan, and street lighting with energy efficiency measures.

Not surprisingly, one of the strong points of this regulated collaboration between the City Council and the entity will be the conservation, maintenance, extension and improvement of the infrastructures, facilities and services of the industrial estate. These include the future implementation of the relevant technological tools for SUPOI-8 to become one of the smart industrial estates in Spain.

The EGM will be financed by the companies’ contributions in relation to the square metres of the plot of each property, with a minimum amount of 360 euros per year and a maximum of 2,400 euros per year, as well as with the municipal subsidy and hypothetical aid from Industry.
