| Approves unanimously the request to the Generalitat for greater investment in industrial estates

The extraordinary plenary session of the Almassora Town Council this afternoon unanimously approved the request to the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE) to carry out improvements in the SUPOI-6 and SUPOI-8 industrial estates for a total of one million euros. The investment in these industrial areas, which aims to improve their infrastructures, will be the largest sum set in annual accounts for a global action with the aim of attracting new investors to these spaces.

Following the reading of the Mayor’s proposal, the municipal corporation unanimously approved the adhesion to the call for «aid for investment projects for the improvement, modernisation and provision of infrastructure and services in industrial estates, industrial areas and technological enclaves with a budget for the financial year 2023». In this way, Almassora is requesting a figure of around 200,000 euros for the SUPOI-6 industrial estate and around 800,000 euros for the SUPOI-8 industrial site.

The works in both areas are aimed at increasing competitiveness compared to other industrial estates through improvements. It should be noted that the scope of action will affect a total of 1,770,300 square metres thanks to the 435,100 square metres that make up the SUPOI-6 industrial area and the 1,335,200 square metres belonging to the SUPOI-8 industrial estate, the only one in the town with a Management and Modernisation Entity (EGM) constituted and put into operation.

The actions in the SUPOI-6 area will be aimed at the implementation of surveillance connected to the Local Police headquarters to increase security, vertical and horizontal traffic signs, work in green areas and the implementation of some new ones, increasing the number of fire hydrants throughout the industrial area, improving energy efficiency through public lighting and the drinking water supply network itself, both in high and low pressure sections.

As for the SUPOI-8 industrial estate, close to the CV-10, it will cover the following interventions: implementation of surveillance connected to the Local Police headquarters to increase security, vertical and horizontal traffic signage, work in green areas and implementation of some new ones, improvement of energy efficiency through street lighting and the renovation of the separate sewerage of wastewater plus the construction of tanks for rainwater, which will account for the largest amount of the total.

Finally, the mayoress of Almassora, Merche Galí, declared that «both joint actions will reach one million euros and will represent the largest investment made in a year in the industrial estates of our municipality». «The council and IVACE will work hand in hand to improve our industrial areas and be much more competitive compared to other spaces,» said the mayor.
